Teaching Programme
The teaching programme of the KBS is flexible and student centred. We will be offering training days and intensive training weekends, each with input from a selection of our world class faculty.
The material is organised in modules; an intensive weekend will include units from several modules. By building up teaching over several weekends, all the material in each module will be covered. Mentoring and group work are important ways of helping each student to incorporate the teaching in their situation.
Module 1 - Restoring our foundations
The programme starts by setting a foundation of being the person God means us to be, which we can only be in relationship with him. Unless we are first transformed we cannot be transformers of business and the world. In this module we use Biblical wisdom and understanding allied with the best of contemporary psychological practice to address the whole person. Starting from the Biblical understanding of humankind we look at discovering our identity in Christ, and growing to maturity through the work of the Holy Spirit. This includes understanding the cycle of grace, and the psychological theories of attachment and boundaries. We examine the Hebraic promises of childhood. We use recommended tools to discover our individual strengths, and then learn to escape from our cages by understanding how life scripts have been imposed on us. With healing we can become the person we were created to be, and use our strengths for the Kingdom. We also learn how to build and maintain healthy relationships, how to resolve conflict, and how to build and grow team and develop a healthy community.
Module 2 - Restoring business foundations
We start by understanding what Kingdom business is, how Business as Mission works and what the Biblical principles are that underpin business as God intended it to be. We look at the Hebraic worldview, and bridging the sacred secular divide. We learn the theology of work and business, knowing that if we are called to business we will be anointed for business. We learn about the quadruple bottom line, and understand how business can have a spiritual impact. We learn about organisational structures and understand the strength of the starfish, and its place in the Bible. We learn leadership in a starfish model, including Biblical examples, and discover what kind of leader we are. We look at organisation growth using the “egg to butterfly” model. We discuss some specifics such as strategic marketing and knowing and healing the “land” we’re working on.
Module 3 - Building the Kingdom
This module is where the principles learnt in the first two modules are put into action. We learn how to develop a tool kit from the Kingdom principles for business, finance and discipleship, which will enable us to walk the daily business walk. We look at company structures and procedures, growing together as a team, getting and keeping the vision. We use exercises based on your own enterprise to build confidence and competence.
